I always get an error message when trying to connect to sites, like "no route to host", "host not found", "Valid name,no data record of requested type" etc.. what's wrong?
Two possibilities - either: 1) You need to configure BPFTP to work with your firewall or proxy. You'll need to ask your system administrator or ISP for details. 2) You're trying to connect to a site which doesn't exist or is down temporarily. Try connecting to a major site like FTP.cdrom.com - if you can connect to that then you know it is not a configuration problem.
